Lean Six Sigma
We are excited to announce a new partnership with Hollingsworth Consulting LLC to expand our educational offerings by developing Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt courses.
This collaboration aims to provide flexible, industry-recognized credentialing options for school districts seeking to enhance their curricula and better prepare students for the workforce.
Development of the Yellow Belt and Green Belt courses is underway now. Stay tuned!

Course Offerings & Points
The partnership will develop two key courses:
Yellow Belt Course: This introductory course will cover the fundamentals of Lean Six Sigma, including basic methodologies and tools. Students will learn how to contribute effectively in improvement projects and understand the principles of process efficiency.
Green Belt Course: Building upon the Yellow Belt, the Green Belt course delves deeper into Lean Six Sigma techniques. Students will be trained to lead projects, apply advanced analysis, and drive significant improvements within processes.
Both courses are designed with flexibility in mind, allowing districts to integrate them seamlessly into existing programs. The curriculum will include a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring that students not only learn the concepts but also how to apply them in real-world scenarios.
To achieve the Industry-Recognized Credential Seal, students need to accumulate 12 points of approved credentials. Points within the Career field focus must be earned within a single career field. Lean Six Sigma credentials are recognized (applicable) in all 13 career fields on the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce approved list and together the yellow and green belt courses provide 9 of the 12 required points (75%).
Benefits for School Districts
By offering these courses, school districts can provide students with the opportunity to earn industry-recognized credentials before graduation. This proactive approach enhances students' employability and readiness for post-secondary education or entry into the workforce. Additionally, incorporating Lean Six Sigma training can lead to improved school processes and a culture of continuous improvement among staff and students alike.
Lean Six Sigma methodologies focus on team based problem solving improving both efficiency and quality. Students will develop essential skills such as complex problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical reasoning, innovation, teamwork, integrity, and effective communication. These competencies are among the most in-demand skills for 2025, as identified by the Future of Jobs Report (2020, World Economic Forum) and the Appalachian Ohio Manufacturers Coalition (2021). With our Lean Six Sigma courses, students gain both technical expertise and critical soft skills needed for success in today’s workforce.
